Hope For Weekend 2023
November 4th & 5th

Vertical Church’s Hope For Weekend was established in 2019. Once a year, we shut down our building to focus on the high priority needs of our Local Mission Partners. While we get the opportunity to serve with each of these partners throughout the year, there is something special that happens when we cancel Sunday services and serve alongside our community for an entire weekend.

Hope For The Addicted

Crossroads Ministries

CANTON, MS

The Crossroads Ministries facility is a halfway house located in Canton, MS. It is a two phase operation. The first is where women come in from prisons, treatment centers, or abusive situations where they find a safe and positive environment for up to 120 days. The second phase places more independence on the women and supports and encourages them to find jobs, start paying rent, and prepares them to live on their own. Crossroads now has additional housing for women who have graduated from the program.

Hope For The Homeless

Jackson Resource Center + The Yellow House

JACKSON, MS

Homelessness is one of our nation’s most serious problems. While there are many causes of homelessness, one primary cause is the growing gap between housing costs and income. On any given night hundreds of individuals and families are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless in Jackson, MS and although it is difficult to estimate the number of homeless people locally, over 2,000 homeless children were identified in the Jackson, MS public school system last year. It is estimated that thousands of people are homeless in Jackson, MS on any given night. The Jackson Resource Center has been and is a voice of those who are homeless in our community. As a non-profit, JRC has implemented and continues to update a Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness in Jackson, MS and will not stop until we are all working together as one body assisting those in need.

The Yellow House is open and taking in young women who are pregnant and homeless. It's so easy to look at someone and size them up without actually living their truth. Please join us by volunteering your talents, time and/or financial resources to pour love into these women and children. This partnership is not just during Hope For Weekend but for continued mentorship for the families who find shelter at TYH.

Hope for the Displaced

DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing relief services to communities around the United States hit by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. DRAW was started with a singular premise in mind: a natural disaster is one of very few times in the human experience where a person or family goes from everyday life to rock bottom instantly.

In 2021, DRAW opened a new warehouse location in the Motor Club in Jackson, MS. We had the opportunity to partner with DRAW during their IDA Relief Efforts. DRAW has 6 formatted buckets that aid in relief during natural disasters. You can learn more about this organization by clicking HERE.

Hope for The Hungry

MadCAAP

MadCAAP's programs have continued to expand over the past 37 years as we seek to meet the immediate needs and foster hope in the lives of those we serve. MadCAAP has approximately 2,800 client families registered with us as living below the federally mandated poverty level in Madison County. These client families receive services through our Food Pantry, Helping Hands Garden, New Attitudes Educational Classes, Clothing Closet, Housing Repair, and Emergency Assistance programs. Our "Back to School" and "Holiday Adopt a Child" programs provide for children whose parent has completed 12 hours of educational classes. Additionally, we offer a Tutoring program, VBS, STEM projects, Project H.O.P.E., and provide 700 food boxes and frozen turkeys at Thanksgiving.

We invite you to keep scrolling and learning about MadCAAP and our community programs.
